Are you ready to uncover a unique technique that can help you find mindfulness and recenter yourself during moments of anxiety? This article discusses how frozen oranges can help you with anxiety, panic, or any anxious feelings quickly and effectively.

So, what's the secret ingredient to this anxiety-busting technique? It's simple: frozen oranges. Gather a few, pop them in the freezer, and continue reading to discover how oranges can help you manage your anxiety.

Frozen oranges can help with anxiety, amongst other anxious triggers. If you have high anxiety, below are 6 reasons to keep frozen oranges in your freezer.

1.) The Smell of Oranges- the smell of oranges may increase serotonin and stimulate brain pathways, elevating mood and overall making you feel better.

2.) Distraction- In DBT therapy, many of the exercises are a distraction away from the emotion. A cold, frozen orange distracts you from anxious feelings and takes hold of your focus.

3.) Cools Down Panic—Anxiety and panic run hot. If you remember the last time you felt anxious, do you remember your body heating up? The physical sensations of anxiety are more likely to be hot than cold. Grabbing a frozen orange and lowering your temperature can instantly be soothing.

4.) Stimulating the Vagus Nerve—The vagus nerve plays a key role in anxiety. By adding some cold, you can stimulate the vagus nerve, alleviating the tension and anxious feelings.

5.) Slowing down—By adding cold items to yourself, whether that is a cold washcloth to your head, dipping your toes in cold water, or holding a cold fruit like an orange, you will instantly slow down and have a grounding effect.

6.) Grounding—Not only do oranges have a nice, pleasant, and stimulating smell, but they also offer a sense of mindfulness because of the sensations in the present moment. This is a way to connect to yourself in the present moment and a quick tip to get grounded before anxiety continues to take over.
